Title: Ancestral rain dance
Medium: Pen on Rosapina Fabriano
Dimensions: 40.5 x 58 x 2.3 cm
Description:
"Ancestral rain dance" evokes the rhythmic rituals of ancient communities calling for rain, celebrating the deep connection between people and the cycles of nature. The artwork captures the swirling energy of a lone dancer, the anticipation of renewal, and the reverence for ancestral wisdom that guides us through drought and abundance. It is a visual meditation on hope, resilience, and the sacred relationship between land, water, and spirit.
As we go about our daily lives in jest. Losing sight of reality has become common place. Small details lost to our unconscious bias and muffled perception.

Ancestral Erosions - 2024
"Ancestral Erosions" delves into the profound relationship between the earth's surface and the cultural layers that rest upon it. This exhibition explores soil erosion and environmental degradation as both natural processes and human-induced crises, echoing the erosion of ancestral wisdom, traditions, and our spiritual connection to the land. It is a meditation on what we lose — materially and immaterially — when landscapes are stripped bare.
This was the first artwork as part of the series for my solo show. Drawn entirely from memory.
